This series of posts breaks down the ginormous and complex topic of Assessment into manageable chunks.
1.Considerations for setting-up your grade book and selecting assessments
2. Assessments for Novice learners
3. Timed writes as a way to measure growth
4. Pre-assessing and setting goals with emerging Intermediates
5. Why I am still (mostly) in love with Integrated Performance Assessments
Note: I strive to strike a balance between district/school/department requirements, principles of second language acquisition, and ACTFL guidelines. This series reflects where I am at today with these sometimes conflicting forces. I hope it helps a few teachers reflect and make informed choices. It certainly helped me think deeper about my choices.
