Having explored the beautiful diversity of the Francophone world, it was only logical to ask my 7th grade students to read about and create personal connections with famous Black francophones. I hesitated to put this on social media. I KNOW how anxiety-inducing waiting for this vaccine is. If you have not gotten your first dose yet, I SEE you and I am rotting for you. If you are hesitant to get your vaccine, I truly hope seeing others doing will help you make your decision. On a personal level, this was an emotional moment for me: I am one step closer to finally seeing my family in France.
